Brussels Notes: Living Room

I moved my site to a new address. You can find more of my recipes, travel adventures and book reviews there.

I know it’s only Thursday, but do you already have plans for the weekend? My weekend will be filled with pleasant activities. There is Brussels Yoga Day event in the park Bois de la Cambre on Sunday. I am really looking forward to dose of stretching, relaxation and positive energy. I just hope it won’t rain.

We were planning to go to Dinant or Mons on Saturday, but since the weather is unpredictable these days we will probably stay in Brussels. But even if we’ll stay in Brussels we won’t be spending the whole day inside. We’ll go for a walk and definitely stop for a coffee somewhere. Maybe the Living Room cafe again. It’s in perfect location, between metro stop Schuman and European Parliament, right next to the Leopold Park.

I found the Living Room review on S Marks the Spots blog and from the pictures I knew it is the kind of place I will love. I love places where there are mismatched tables and chairs, comfortable couches and armchairs, where there is lots of daylight and where they serve tasty cakes and cookies. In the last month or so we have been there three times. It is a good indication that I fell in love with the place.

On our visits we tried espresso, caffè latte, caffè macchiato, iced tea, ginger lemonade, scones, carrot cake, brownies and cookies which are all homemade and we were not disappointed. The cookie “caramelia” is my favorite and it is definitely the best cookie I had in Brussels. We haven’t tried their brunch menu yet so we have something to look forward to.

The Living Room is also a design shop and I have already spotted few things that would be a nice gift to any of my girlfriends.

There is only a single problem with the Living Room, they are closed on Sundays.

What are your plans for the weekend? Do you have a favorite cafe in Brussels? I’m always looking for nice new places worth a visit. Have a nice weekend!
